my obsession with food

Lately, I have been obsessing with food. I am almost certain that this is a psychological mechanism to deal with other more stressful things that are happening in my life. I have come to the point where I don't really know. Am I fat? Or am I really ok? Have I lost all perspective? Am I getting to that point where I start to 'see' myself fat but I'm not. I mean, you have to understand. I am from Venezuela. We don't do fat! If you are fat you don't count yourself as a person, you get my drift?

Anyhow... I am doing my bit, making my effort, doing my exercises. Actually, running down that beach you see in the top picture is quiet relaxing. Just don't do it on a Sunday, cuz it's so packed of people eating ice cream, making bbqs and enjoying food without any regret that it will just send you straight to some sinful place for food... hehe.. like Burger King, MacDonald's or even Pizza Hut, God forbid!

On the other hand when you have too much time on your hands and not a lot of stuff to do, you can't help but eat a lot, right? So, what I do is I eat lots of pineapple, lots of yogurt, lots of soy milk :) Here I go again about the food. It's like my mind only thinks about food!! heeellppp!!!

What has really helped me is a thing my honey taught me and that is: to make lists. You see, he is a Virgo and Virgo's like to make lists naturally. It's just in their nature. So each day I make a list of things I have to do even small things like make a phone call or write an email and you could not imagine how much satisfaction I get from crossing each of those little tasks out. :) Pure bliss! A tiny tiny feeling of fulfillment.

Of course this may seem dumb to some people. Maybe people who have much more important things going on in their lives, like the arrival of a new member in the family!!! Yes, my sweetum's sister had her baby T O D A Y!! How cool is that? Turn out she looks just like her daddy, she is in perfectly good shape and the family is rejoicing with happiness. Hopefully me and my honey will be able to meet her in December. I really look forward to that!
